James CrabeΒ (August 19, 1931 β May 2, 1989) was an American cinematographer known for his work in the 1970s and '80s on numerous films, includingΒ Rocky,Β The China Syndrome,Β Night Shift,Β The Karate Kid, andΒ Thank God It's Friday. He was a part of the 1960s underground film collective known as Gay Girls Riding Club, a group of gay men in the industry, who spoofed Hollywood movies in a series of elaborate amateur films.
