Season 5

As the documentary series returns for a 5th series the team at Barnsley Hospital continue to work to help the ill and injured of South Yorkshire, aiding patients suffering from heart attacks, road traffic collisions and allergic reactions.

The Casualty Department of Barnsley Hospital rushes to help the ailing such as a patient who has suffered a heart attack and one with chainsaw wounds as they serve the South Yorkshire community.

A fire alarm goes off, Sister Benita must prepare the whole department for evacuation. A man with potential spinal injuries is given pain relief while waiting for scan results. A woman needs an emergency operation to remove a blood clot.

A man named Terry, who fell off a roof and is seriously injured, needs help. A man named Jeff is brought in by ambulance after his car flipped onto its side.

A high call-out for ambulances has resulted in paramedics queuing with patients in the corridor at Barnsley Casualty. The team must decide who is seen and who can wait. Priority is given to two patients struggling to breathe.
